The Andrada Mining company is moving ahead with the Phase 2 expansion of its Uis tin mine in Namibia, which includes the construction of a second 100 t/h tin processing jig plant. The new plant is designed to support the modular expansion of operations into nearby pegmatite zones without affecting current production.
The facility will be capable of processing a broad spectrum of tin ore grades and will feature a three-stage primary crushing and screening circuit, followed by a jigging section and shaking tables. The quality and composition of the tin concentrate output are expected to match those produced by the existing processing plant.
To fund the project, Andrada secured a $2.5-million facility in February 2025 from LC Abelheim, acting as trustee of The Orange Trust. The Orange Trust is the company’s largest shareholder, holding 15.81% of issued ordinary shares. This expansion underlines Andrada’s commitment to increasing tin output and operational flexibility at Uis, while leveraging nearby resources for long-term growth.
