The pan-African brand Minet’s subsidiary Minet Namibia Insurance Brokers attended this year’s Investing in Africa Mining Indaba to showcase some of its insurance solutions to miners.
Chief Commercial Officer for Minet Namibia Insurance Brokers, Caroline Athiyo, said the company is leveraging its ability to understand risks in the entire spectrum of the mining value chain to offer insurance solutions.
The company’s decision to develop solutions for the mining industry is inspired by the abundance of natural resources on the African continent.
“Our mining division provides customized risk solutions to cope with those challenges that mining and the mineral processing industry are facing,” said Athiyo, echoing the need for collaborations among the stakeholders in the mining industry.
“Our commitment to our stakeholders or our clients is that we are committed to offering the best solutions to you and also leveraging other clients we have internationally.”
She said Minet’s attendance at the Mining Indaba is to forge partnerships with players in the industry.
“We are here to partner with many of the service providers plus the mining industries; that is, the mining companies fully investing in Africa.”
“Also, we have noted that there are many investors who are interested in the mining sector or have expressed key interest in the mineral resources,” said Athiyo, emphasizing their intentions to collaborate with investors coming into the continent.
She said Minet is also able to support the mining industries around risk management.
“So our commitment is to provide clients with customized packages that best meet their needs, particularly concerning their property, assets, liabilities, and employee benefits.”
Athiyo further said they are well equipped with both local and international solutions, depending on the size of the business or investment, as some risks cannot be covered locally.
