Pioneer Lithium Expands Horizons with Uranium Acquisitions

Australian-listed Pioneer Lithium (ASX:PLN) has significantly broadened its portfolio with the acquisition of two uranium projects: Skull Creek in Colorado, USA, and Warmbad in Namibia. This strategic move positions the company at the forefront of the burgeoning critical minerals sector, capitalizing on the growing demand for uranium as the world transitions towards low-carbon energy solutions.

The Skull Creek project, situated within the Sego Sandstone formation, boasts a 17-kilometer strike length and exhibits uranium mineralization potential. The Warmbad project, located in southern Namibia, presents multiple high-grade targets within granitic rock formations.

To acquire the Skull Creek project, Pioneer will acquire Lia Energy Corporation through a combination of cash and shares. The transaction includes a deferred cash payment contingent upon achieving a significant resource estimate at the project.

Similarly, the acquisition of the Warmbad project from Rodon Metals will involve a combination of cash and shares, with further contingent cash payments tied to specific resource estimation milestones.

“These acquisitions represent a defining moment for Pioneer,” stated Robert Martin, Executive Chairman of Pioneer Lithium. “They significantly enhance our portfolio beyond our existing lithium prospects, positioning us for substantial value creation in the critical minerals sector.”

Martin highlighted the significant exploration work already undertaken at both projects. “Both assets have undergone extensive exploration, with over 31,000 meters of drilling completed at Warmbad,” he explained. “This historical data will serve as a valuable foundation for our future exploration and development programs.”

To fund these acquisitions, Pioneer is undertaking a $1.675 million placement at a slight discount to the last closing price. The proceeds from this placement will be utilized to advance exploration and development activities at the new uranium projects, cover acquisition costs, and support general working capital requirements.

In the coming months, Pioneer will initiate a comprehensive exploration program at Skull Creek, focusing on identifying and confirming uranium-bearing strata through sampling and geological surveys. At Warmbad, the company will review historical exploration data, conduct modern surveying techniques, and undertake targeted drilling programs to further delineate promising uranium targets.

This strategic expansion into the uranium sector positions Pioneer Lithium as a key player in the critical minerals space. As the global energy landscape continues to evolve, the company is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for uranium and contribute to the global transition towards cleaner energy sources.
