The African leg of mining software developer and provider Hexagon Mining’s MineQuest 2016, the company’s global user event series, will again be hosted by Namibia in Swakopmund from June 22 to 24. Mid-April saw the opening of the event in Tucson, Arizona, in the US, with the theme ‘shaping the digital mine’, a prominent topic of Hexagon Mining president Helios Samora’s opening address to attendees.
“Hexagon Mining is working to achieve the digital mine by connecting planning, operations and safety in real time.” The vision of a digital mine was delivered throughout the event using a dynamic mix of presentations, workshops, consultations and demonstrations at the Tucson event, where clients were expected to give first-hand accounts of the Hexagon Mining technology in the field. These presentations highlighted real-life examples of how the company’s solutions were improving performance, simplifying workflows, protecting mining equipment and even saving lives.
The tradeshow component of the MineQuest event, referred to as The Zone, features the latest integration of Hexagon’s survey and measurement solutions, with particular emphasis on slope monitoring.
The company recently relaunched its consolidated services organisation, built on the principles of deployment, training and consulting. Among the other scheduled interna- tional events, MineQuest will visit Perth, Australia, from June 20 to 22; Santiago, Chile, from August 8 to 10; Lima, Peru, from August 10 to 12; and Hermosillo, Mexico, from August 15 to 17. Hexagon’s annual international conference will take place in Anaheim, California, and run from June 13 to 16
